ONEVA BORUVKA AT GRANCEK (Rupert)
Rupert had an excellent pedigree, and was of pure Czech breeding, going back to the very influential sire Ben Prasek on his dam’s side. He had a successful show career until he was retired to stud after breaking two teeth in an accident at home, and subsequently proved to be a good producer of quality stock, with many of his offspring being shown successfully. At Cruft’s 2008, two bitches by him were 1st and 2nd in their class, and one of his sons also won his class. His son Grancek Dominik won his class at Cruft’s in 2004, and was then 2nd or 3rd each year until he too was retired from the ring.
All Rupert’s stock have excellent temperaments and are of good breed type. Rupert passed his Good Citizens Bronze Award at the tender age of 5 months!
Sadly Rupert died shortly before Christmas 2008, but his legacy continues in his many sons, daughters and grandchildren including my beloved Junior and Millie (G. Dominik and Rossau Fancy Free at Grancek), both by Rupert, Ellis and Elkie (G. Early One Morning and G. Elektra), Illya (G. Illya), and his grandchildren through Junior, as well as Grancek Goodness Gracious Pendevour (Sam) and Grancek Enigma of Pendevour (Jade), both by Rupert and now with Norina Evans of the Pendevour Cesky Terriers. Many of Rupert's descendants are being shown successfully, and several have now bred litters of their own. Rupert was a real character, and he will be long remembered and will be sadly missed here at Grancek, especially by his special friend, Kizzy (Llancarfan Adore at Grancek), now an old lady herself, but still thoroughly enjoying life among her extended family.
